A mammoth is any species of the extinct elephantid genus Mammuthus, one of the many genera that make up the order of trunked mammals called proboscideans. The various species of mammoth were commonly equipped with long, curved tusks and, in northern species, a covering of long hair. Mammoths are found in the Pleistocene deposits and on every continent except Australia and South America and in early Holocene deposits of North America.

His art is inspired by the natural patterns and colors found in the Fairburn Agate, South Dakota’s state gemstone. Each image is a hand-drawn tribute to his Lakota heritage and the landscapes, skies, wildlife, spirit and history of Black Hills and Great Plains of the West.
