Velociraptor is a sickle-clawed dinosaur that flourished in central and eastern Asia during the Late Cretaceous Period (99 million to 65 million years ago). This meat-eater weighed only approximately 30 pounds and was 2’ tall x 6’ long. The name Velociraptor translates from the Greek as “speedy thief”.

Description

Dustin Twiss is a member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe and lives with his family near Buffalo Gap, South Dakota on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. His art is inspired by the natural patterns and colors found in the Fairburn Agate, South Dakota’s state gemstone. Each image is a hand-drawn tribute to his Lakota heritage and the landscapes, skies, wildlife, spirit and history of Black Hills and Great Plains of the West.

Produced and assembled on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.
