Description
Ankylosaurus magniventrus is an armored dinosaur found only in Cretaceous sediments of North America. Although represented by very few specimens, this armored dinosaur is very popular. They are distinguished by their tank-like body covered with armored plates, and a prominent club on the end of the tail. These adaptations would have been a means of protection against predators.
This shoulder spike would have been an important part of the Ankylosaurus defense system, and probably would have been located on its right shoulder.
